Michael Fred Phelps born on 30 June 1985 in Baltimore is a phenomenal American swimmer who holds several Olympic and world records in swimming. In his short career he won 16 Olympic medals, and to 14 gold and 2 bronze. Eight medals won in 2004 to the summer Olympic Games in Athens (six gold, two bronze) and eight gold in 2008 in Beijing. His 14 Olympic gold medals is a historical record for a single athlete in the history of the Olympic Games. He was declared the best swimmers in the year 2003, 2004, 2006 and 2007.
